The

due to our rich natural beauty which includes a variety
of plant and animal species and a number of water sources
where people can bathe. All these things make the municipality
quite attractive to tourist.
Below
are some examples of places one can bathe in an all
natural environment:

which is more than 40 feet in height. The infrastructure
does not interfere with the natural beauty of the. The site
it is administrated by the community leaders. Admission:

River of Yojoa another jewel. We can enjoy many water sports
or just simply enjoy its natural beauty.
- Balneario
“Las Aguas Termales” (a natural sauna)
with natural pools and water that have temperatures
higher that 100 degrees. Admission is free, but if
you go there by car you have to pay for parking. It
is a struggle to protect this environment and improve
it for everyone. Here is where you will find an installation
of “Environmental Camps”, a project of
ANEDH (Asociación de Exbecarios de Honduras)
which has a conference room, kitchen, dorms, bathrooms
and much, much more

Caves
are very common in this area due to the local topography of
the land. Some of the highlights are Calichón, Sancrisango,
Chichipaton, Jutiapa. All of these caves are no more that
two hours away on foot.
There are many sites where you can play sports such as: hiking,
rappel, canoe and expeditions among other things.
 |
Due
to the fact that we are located in an area that was predominantly
Maya and Lenca, one call still find traces of the Mayan
civilization that has disappeared and enjoy the Lenca
community which still retains its culture. The Lenca still
maintain many of their ancient religious, social and cultural
practices. You can buy a lot of different traditional
crafts like the tule mats, straw hats, wood and metal
furniture among other things. |
In short,
this region is the ideal site for ecotourism, tourism and
above all we are waiting here to serve you.
