Businesses
of Zacapa

The
small businesses that provide products and services in
the municipality are few. Currently there is an average
of 4 small family run stores (pulperías) per community.
In the urban center is where the bigger businesses are
located such as the hardware store, grocery stores, depositories,
veterinary services, cafeterias, a hotel and guest house,
billiards, artisan workshops, shoe repair, plumbing services,
electrician, tailor, carpenters and a welding shop.

Most businesses
are run by their owners and a few employ one or two
people on a non-permanent basis. What one cannot find
in town one can find in the nearby cities of Santa Bárbara,
Sigutepeque, and San Pedro Sula. Delivery trucks make
their deliveries approximately once a week.
